“Warm, welcoming, open and thought-provoking” – These words are often used to describe worship at First Presbyterian Church. Worship is a sacred time and space to center ourselves in God who equips us to go into the world as disciples. “I don’t have to go to church — I love to go to church!”
We gather for worship to praise God through meaningful sermons, biblical lessons, soulful prayers, great music and joyful singing! In addition to Christian holidays, we sometimes worship with other churches, celebrate in the outdoors or focus on specific topics, like our Martin Luther King Jr. Community Celebration, Earth Day or Blessing of the Animals.
At First Presbyterian we come together from a variety of backgrounds, not just Presbyterian – some of us grew up in other Protestant denominations, some are former Roman Catholics, and for some, this is their first church experience. It’s a blended congregation with a blend of worship styles that brings us all together as we worship God.”
