Thanksgiving is just around the corner, and our church will again be preparing and delivering hot meals to our neighbors who are home bound. This is an opportunity for you to donate either money or food items for the meal preparation. There is a need for delivery drivers, which takes anywhere from a half hour to an hour depending on the number of drop offs and the number of routes. There is also a need for people to help cook and pack the meals for delivery.
The “Perky Turkey” is displayed in the Narthex. His “feathers” list food and other items needed for the meal. Just pluck a feather or two and bring your donation to the church on the dates listed on the sign-up sheet. You also have the opportunity to volunteer to help in the kitchen and pack the meals. Please sign up early!
Contact Karen Casteel-Schlise (715-853-4469) if you have any questions.
Hanging of the Greens
On Sunday, November 24th we will be gathering after worship for the annual “Hanging of the Greens”. An ancient tradition in the Christian Church, we will decorate the sanctuary for Advent. Join us for a fun afternoon and get in the spirit of the season!
It’s that time of year again when we are looking for help with the Nativity Walk. The walk will take place Thursday, December 5th through Sunday, December 8th. We are looking for cookie bakers, cookie servers, set up and take down help, and people to assist visitors. There are sign up sheets in the Narthex. Contact Kay Schroeder or Ed Moede with any questions.
If you are interested in placing a plant in the sanctuary to honor or remember someone this Christmas, please fill out the form found in bulletins and newsletters, and place it with your payment in the offering plate or return it to the office. There are a limited amount of plants available so sign up early.
This year poinsettias are $16.00 per plant.
Community Meals Point Persons (Think, Do, Ahhhh!)
Think about joining the team of “point persons” for the Community Meals. It really doesn’t require any special skills other than providing direction to the meal sponsors and making sure our church is safe and locked up securely at the end of the evening.
Do join our team and expect to work 3-4 meals each year. For questions or to volunteer, call the church office (715-526-3329) or Donna Thomas (715-853-6571).
Ahhhh! it feels so good to offer help.
